The European Association for Architectural Education is an international, membership-based Association representing architectural schools in Europe with the aim to advance the quality of architectural education and promote the quality of architecture in Europe. The Association provides a forum for generating information on aspects of architectural education and architectural research. The EAAE is a non-profit, Belgian registered organization.
Mission and Objectives
The purpose of the Association is to advance the quality of architectural education and also to promote the quality of architecture in Europe. The Association provides a forum for generating information on aspects of architectural education and architectural research.
The mission of the Association is to build a network of European schools of architecture, fostering discussions, exchanges and a common policy in Europe to advance the quality of architectural education. The EAAE promotes the interests of member schools as institutions and academic environments.
Council Meetings
The EAAE Council meets physically at least three times annually and online monthly. The following duties are particularly reserved for the Council:
- Execution of the Association’s general policy and thus the regulations and methods of applying it;
- Organizing the Association’s activities, in particular the conferences, seminars and fora;
- Raising funds and supervision of the use of these funds;
- Preparing the annual report and the accounts to be presented to the General Assembly;
- Proposal of candidates of members of the Council to the General Assembly.
General Meetings
The General Meeting takes place in 2 parts. The first and financial part takes place in April and the second and general part at the Annual Conference in August. The General Meeting is composed of all members. The following duties are reserved for the General Assembly:
- Modifications to the statutes of the Association;
- Decisions on the general policy of the Association;
- Acceptance and exclusion of members;
- Election, discharge and dismissal of members of the Council;
- Determining the annual contributions;
- Approving the budget and annual accounts;
- Dissolving the Association.

EAAE Statutes
EAAE Statutes is the basic document of the European Association for Architectural Education. It declares the Association’s purpose and defines its functioning, including the roles and responsibilities of its bodies and members.
EAAE Secretariat
The EAAE secretariat assists the EAAE Council in their mission and the execution of their task and forms a bridge between the EAAE member schools and the broad EAAE network.
The secretariat helps to ensure the continuity of the organization. The secretariat is also in charge of the maintenance of the website of the EAAE. The EAAE secretariat is located in Brussels, Belgium (KU Leuven).
