EAAE statement concerning academics and students in conflict areas

The European Association for Architectural Education advocates for the academic and research freedom of both students and staff. We are committed to fostering educational environments that respect diverse backgrounds and experiences while promoting equitable access to resources and opportunities for all. We stand firm against all forms of discrimination, prejudice, and the destruction of architectural heritage, including academic and research infrastructures.

We recognize the unique challenges faced by colleagues and students from conflict-affected regions and place high value on  academic support that involves inclusivity and understanding. We encourage cross-border exchange and collaboration among academics and students, grounded in a shared commitment to humanity. We also encourage discussions on the situations in conflict areas by promoting respectful and constructive international and intercultural dialogue, guided by the values of architectural education and research.
